Profile & Story
Txomin Etxaniz is one of the founding families of the D.O. Getariako Txakolina, with winemaking documentation in Getaria, Basque Country, dating back to 1649. The wine is made from the native Hondarrabi Zuri grape grown on steep hillside vineyards above the Cantabrian Sea, fermented at cool temperatures to preserve bright acidity and a light natural spritz. Getaria's Atlantic climate and maritime exposure give the wine its distinctive salinity. Note: only a lower-resolution bottle image was available for this small-production Basque wine.
Tasting Notes
A zippy, faintly spritzy Basque coastal white built entirely for the seafood on the table beside it. Restaurant's Notes: Green apple, lime, sea spray, subtle pétillance; super-refreshing and zippy.
