Profile & Story
Jayson is Pahlmeyer's second label, drawing on both Napa Valley and Sonoma Coast fruit to deliver the winery's signature richness at a more accessible price point. The 2021 blends valley-floor plushness with concentrated mountain fruit from Rutherford and Atlas Peak, then ages roughly 15 months in 80% new Taransaud oak under winemaker Katie Vogt. It carries forward the outsized personality of founder Jayson Pahlmeyer.
Tasting Notes
Blackberry and red currant with dark forest-floor earthiness, red licorice, and toasted spice; plush and long on the finish. Restaurant's Notes: Opulent dark fruit, vanilla, espresso, baking spice; silky texture with a plush mid-palate.
