Profile & Story

Despite the "Margaux" listing on the restaurant's menu, this wine is Château La Chenade, a Lalande-de-Pomerol cuvee crafted by the late Denis Durantou of Château L'Église-Clinet in Pomerol. La Chenade began as a bottling made from the young vines of Durantou's neighboring Les Cruzelles estate before becoming its own wine, and it is now overseen by his daughters Noémie and Constance Durantou alongside longtime cellar master Olivier Gautrat. Grown on sandy-gravel soils just across the Barbanne stream from the Pomerol plateau, it is a supple, approachable expression of the Durantou family's meticulous Right Bank winemaking.
