Château Corton-Grancey, Louis Latour's headquarters on the hill of Corton, takes its name from the estate's last private owners before the Latour family purchased it in 1891. The wine is a Latour blend of five Corton Grand Cru climats farmed by the domaine -- Bressandes, Perrières, Grèves, Clos du Roi, and Chaumes -- from vines averaging over 40 years old, and is produced only in years when the fruit reaches full maturity, with lesser vintages declassified rather than bottled under the Grancey name. The 2022 shows dark ruby color with a spicy nose of blackberry, pepper, and undergrowth, leading to a full, suave palate of licorice, coffee, and cherry.
