Profile & Story
Marc Brédif, established in 1893 as Château les Roches and renamed after Marc Brédif took over from his uncle in 1919, is one of the historic Chenin Blanc houses of Vouvray, now owned by Baron de Ladoucette. This "Classic" bottling comes from lower-slope vineyards in Vouvray and Vernou-sur-Brenne with chalk-clay and flint-clay soils, hand-harvested and aged nine months on the lees in barrel. It is regarded as a benchmark for accessible, age-worthy Loire Chenin Blanc.
Tasting Notes
A benchmark Vouvray — quince and honeysuckle wrapped in the chalky minerality Chenin Blanc is famous for. Restaurant's Notes: Pear, quince, green apple, honeysuckle, light beeswax; bright acidity, mineral snap, hint of honey.
