Profile & Story

Michele Chiarlo, founded in 1956 in Calamandrana, Asti, is one of Piedmont's most respected family wineries, known for the prized Barolo crus Cerequio and Cannubi. Il Principe is the estate's Langhe Nebbiolo, aged about a year across steel, wood and bottle for a fresher, earlier-drinking style than the winery's Barolo bottlings.

Tasting Notes

A bright, aromatic Langhe Nebbiolo with lifted violet and red-fruit character. Restaurant's Notes: Sour cherry, rose petal, tar, blood orange, anise; bright acidity and fine, chalky tannins.

Pairing Recommendation

Pair with roast turkey, pasta with ragu, or aged pecorino.
