"Operation Dragoon" is a commemorative red blend from acclaimed Rhône winemaker Pierre Gaillard, honoring the Allied invasion of southern France launched on August 15, 1944, the campaign that liberated Toulon and Marseille and helped open a route up the Rhône Valley. Though the restaurant lists it as a Provence red, the wine is technically a Côtes du Rhône, a 70% Grenache/30% Syrah blend sourced from the Gard region of the southern Rhône made in collaboration with importer Kimberly Jones; its label reproduces a US Army Center of Military History photo of a French girl handing a bottle of wine to an American soldier.
