Profile & Story
Penner-Ash Wine Cellars was founded in 1998 by Lynn and Ron Penner-Ash in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, and this Willamette Valley Pinot Noir has been the winery's flagship since its very first vintage. Each year winemaker Kate Payne-Brown blends fruit from a hand-selected group of vineyard partners across the valley to capture both the vintage and the character of the region as a whole. The wine is aged in French oak to build structure and length while preserving its bright, food-friendly fruit.
Tasting Notes
Roasted plum, cocoa and sweet cherry lead to a balanced, approachable palate with hints of fresh spring earth and delicate fig. Restaurant's Notes: strawberry jam, ripe cherry, brown sugar, and whole peppercorn with a velvety, savory-sweet finish.
