The menu lists this simply as a Ramos Douro red, so we sourced Duorum Colheita Red from Duorum Vinhos, a Douro project founded in 2007 by two of Portugal's leading oenologists, Joao Portugal Ramos and Jose Maria Soares Franco. The name, Latin for 'of two,' reflects grapes drawn from two Douro sub-regions at two different altitudes, blended for a fuller expression of the valley. It is a Touriga Nacional-led blend aged in oak barrels for about twelve months.
Tasting Notes
Ripe black fruit and violet notes are backed by firm, well-integrated tannins and a long finish. Restaurant's Notes: Blackberry, black plum, blueberry, violets, cocoa, sweet baking spice; medium body, smooth tannins, juicy, polished finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Nice with grilled pork tenderloin or aged Manchego.
