Bodegas Sierra Cantabria was founded in 1957 by Guillermo Eguren in San Vicente de la Sonsierra and remains a family estate, now directed by the fourth-generation Eguren brothers, with Marcos Eguren as winemaker. The Crianza is 100% Tempranillo sourced from the family's own vineyards around San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida, farmed with organic practices, and aged about 14 months in French and American oak barrels. It shows a bright ruby color with fruity aromas of ripe red berries layered with lactic, toasted and black-tea notes, fresh on the palate with fine, food-friendly tannins. The wine has scored 91 points from Wine Advocate and 92 from Guía Peñín.

Complements grilled meats, enchiladas, or a plate of carnitas, where its bright acidity and soft tannins cut through richness without overpowering the dish.
