Tlo Wines is a family-owned winery founded in 2008 by the Zaninovich family, honouring their Croatian roots — tlo means earth, or soil. Based in Bakersfield with fruit from Spanish Springs Vineyard in the Edna Valley, SLO Coast AVA, this 2019 Blanc de Noirs is the winery's first sparkling wine: 100% Pinot Noir, méthode traditionnelle, 19 months on the lees. Only 228 cases were made, and it earned 91 points from Wine Enthusiast.
Tasting Notes
Real méthode champenoise bubbles from an unexpected place — Bakersfield's own take on Blanc de Noirs, with orchard fruit and a creamy, bready core. Restaurant's Notes: Ripe red apple, wild strawberry, cherry blossom, biscuit; creamy texture with a brisk, chalky close.
