Profile & Story
Anne de Joyeuse has been making wine in Limoux, in the Languedoc foothills of the Pyrenees, since 1929. The 'Original' Malbec is grown on clay-limestone soils, given a cold pre-fermentation maceration, and aged half in stainless steel and half in oak barrels of varying age; the estate farms under its own Protect Planet sustainability charter.
Tasting Notes
Intense ruby and purple in color, with mulberry and violet on the nose developing into black berry fruit and prune on the palate, framed by soft, refined tannins.
Pairing Recommendation
Recommended with steaks and grilled meat, osso buco, lightly spiced meat dishes, veal tajine, or chocolate desserts.
