In a region where granite covers 90% of the surface, this range also explores the rare schist varieties that exist and how the different soils are reflected in the wines. Granite is an igneous rock, naturally poorer in nutrients. With high acidity and a very low water retention index, granite soils cause more difficulties for the plant, resulting in elegant wines with mineral notes and an exuberant, fresh aromatic profile. Vintage 2024: The 2024 winter in the Vinho Verde region recorded the highest average temperatures since 1931. However, early-season rainfall contributed to the replenishment of soil water reserves. Spring brought additional precipitation, ensuring sufficient water availability for the vine's vegetative cycle. The summer was warm and dry, yet without extreme conditions, which favored a balanced ripening process. This harvest, marked by exceptional quality and well-balanced maturation, resulted in wines with notable structure, presence, and a rich, persistent aromatic profile that harmoniously combines minerality and fruit. Harvest method: Manual harvest with selection of grapes and cooling of the bunches, followed by a peculiar maceration, gentle pressing at low pressure and controlled temperatures. Vinification and Ageing: Fermentation and ageing in stainless steel vats, where it remains for an extended period in contact with the fine lees.
