Tignanello, from Marchesi Antinori's Tenuta Tignanello estate in Chianti Classico, was the first Sangiovese aged in small oak barrels and the first modern Tuscan red to blend in Cabernet, breaking from traditional Chianti rules since its 1970s debut. The 2022 is a blend of 78% Sangiovese, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Cabernet Franc, aged just over 13 months in French and Hungarian oak.
Tasting Notes
Ripe plums, black cherries, and fresh violets layered with warm spices, herbs, and mineral undertones, with fine, polished tannins lending structure and grace.
