Profile & Story
Groth Vineyards & Winery has farmed its Oakville Estate since 1981. The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is selected from a 12.10-acre band of the Reserve Vineyard with an unusually high proportion of chert in its soil, farmed sustainably and Fish Friendly Farming certified since 2014.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in color with layered aromas of salted caramel, dark mixed berries, graham cracker, menthol, bittersweet chocolate, cedar, and blueberry; the palate shows tart cherry, brown sugar, blackberry, and structured, dusty tannins through a rich, long finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs with filet mignon in black pepper sauce, blue cheese crostini, or roasted beet salad with goat cheese and pistachios.
