Chateau Martinet is an 18th-century Saint-Emilion property, once a hunting relay before becoming a vineyard, with 17 hectares on clay-limestone soils and an average vine age of 40 years. It belongs to the Pradel de Lavaux family, owners of nine Right Bank Bordeaux chateaux. The wine is a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested and sorted by hand, and aged in a mix of new and one-year-plus oak barrels (roughly one-third each); annual production is about 85,000 bottles.
