Profile & Story

Chateau Vignelaure is a certified-organic estate just north of Aix-en-Provence, established in the 1960s by Georges Brunet, former owner of Bordeaux third-growth Chateau La Lagune. The estate's flagship white is a blend of Roussanne (40%), Sauvignon Blanc (30%) and Viognier (30%) from limestone-clay-gravel soil, hand-harvested and fermented half in 400L oak barrels and half in stainless steel, then aged 12 months on fine lees with regular stirring.

Tasting Notes

Bright yellow in the glass, with a fresh, floral (acacia) nose; the palate shows complexity and balance with elegant freshness, and flavors of vanilla, apricot, peach, honey and pastry cream on a long finish.

Pairing Recommendation

Creamed white meats, fish such as turbot with saffron or red mullet with a citrus sauce, and goat cheese.
