Domaine Michel Thomas & Fils farms 17 hectares in Sury-en-Vaux, a small hamlet about 4km from Sancerre. The family estate was founded in 1946 by Michel Thomas's father and taken over by Michel and his son Laurent in 1970. The Silex cuvee is 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on the domaine's hardest, flintiest (silex) soils, limited to roughly 400-500 cases a year and bottled using traditional methods without filtration.
