Leo Dirringer 'Grain de Sable' Riesling 2023

Leo Dirringer, born in 1992, grew up on the family estate Domaine Ruhlmann Dirringer in Dambach-la-Ville, Alsace, studied viticulture and oenology, took the domaine over in 2016 and made his first vintage in 2017. The 14 hectares are farmed organically (AB certified) and biodynamically, hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and bottled without fining, filtration or added sulphur. Grain de Sable comes from a sandy-granitic plot of 45-year-old Riesling vines: whole clusters are direct-pressed, fermentation is spontaneous, and the wine ages close to two years on its lees in old Alsatian foudres.
