Maison Blanche is the Montagne-Saint-Emilion estate of Nicolas Despagne, part of Vignobles Despagne-Rapin. The vineyards average about 45 years of age, planted mostly to old selections of Merlot with the rest Cabernet Franc, on the gentle slopes of the plateau across Montagne, Saint-Emilion, Pomerol and Libourne; they are farmed on the strictest organic principles and harvested by hand. 'Cease & Desist' is made with a very short maceration, combining direct-press Cabernet Franc with barrel-aged Merlot. In the estate's own telling the name 'harkens back to the many threatening letters we received from a certain film mogul family.'
