Profile & Story

Alexander Valley Vineyards is a family-owned estate in Healdsburg, in Sonoma County's Alexander Valley, on land settled by namesake Cyrus Alexander. The 2023 Homestead Red Blend is a six-grape blend — Zinfandel 49%, Merlot 29%, Grenache 9%, Syrah 7%, Mourvèdre 4%, and Cabernet Sauvignon 2% — aged 14 months in French and American oak barrels, 14% ABV.

Tasting Notes

Ruby-hued and purple in color, with spicy aromas of berry, strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, a hint of leather, oak and vanilla; medium-bodied with dark fruit flavors of black and red cherry, plum and berry carrying through to a structured finish.

Pairing Recommendation

Perfect with red meats — burgers, grilled meats and vegetables, classic shepherd's pie, or long, slow-braised dishes.
