Maggy Hawk is an estate vineyard in the "Deep End" of Anderson Valley, between Philo and Navarro, purchased by Barbara Banke in 2001. The Unforgettable Pinot Noir is 100% Pinot Noir from clones 115, 667 and 2A across estate blocks 5, 6, 10 and 13, aged 15 months in 34% new French oak, unfined and unfiltered, 13.28% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Opens with aromas of pomegranate, potting soil, forest floor, blackberry juice, sarsaparilla, black walnut, root vegetables, blueberry compote and black cherry, with red and black currant flavors; a strong entry mellows into a juicy mid-palate.
