Profile & Story
Bodegas LAN was founded in 1972 in Rioja Alta by a group of Bilbao businessmen; the winery's name is drawn from the initials of the three provinces of the Rioja Denominación de Origen — Logroño, Álava, and Navarra. Its flagship holding is the Viña Lanciano vineyard, set on a bend of the Ebro river on the border of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. This Crianza blends Tempranillo and Garnacha, aged 15 months in mixed French and American oak barrels followed by a further eight months of bottle rest before release, at 13.5% alcohol.
Tasting Notes
Garnet in color with a lively personality, the wine offers aromas of fresh red fruit, strawberry, and forest fruits alongside delicate florals, with secondary notes of vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. The palate is fresh, with enveloping tannins and illuminating acidity that preserve the fruit's freshness while adding complexity.
