Profile & Story

Domaine Jean-Pierre Vacher et Fils is an 11.5-hectare Sancerre estate spread across the communes of Verdigny, Sury-en-Vaux, and Ménétou-Ratel, on predominantly clay-limestone soils. Jean-Pierre Vacher founded the domaine in 1990; his son Jérôme joined in 2004 and took over its management in 2015. Sancerre, the Loire Valley appellation devoted almost entirely to Sauvignon Blanc, is built on chalky limestone soils that give its fully dry, high-acid wines a signature flinty minerality.
