Domaine Frédéric Esmonin is a family estate based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy, run as a true collaboration between Frédéric and his parents, André and Michèle. The family farmed vineyards for generations, previously selling fruit to renowned negociant houses such as Drouhin, Jadot, and Leroy, before launching their own domaine label in 1988; the estate today farms roughly 10 acres of family vineyards. This Bourgogne Pinot Noir, "Les Genevrières," undergoes a short cold maceration before aging in French oak from the Allier and Nevers forests, sourced from coopers Radoux and Berthomieu, using barrels of varying age and toast that are blended for balance and complexity.
