Tenuta di Ceppaiano is run by the Castellani family on the Tuscan coast. This Super Tuscan carries an unusual story: in 1989, artist Keith Haring traveled to Pisa to paint his monumental mural "Tuttomondo," and during that visit he gave the Castellani family a wine label of his own design, expressing hope that it would one day grace a prestigious Tuscan wine. That vision was realized in this Super Tuscan blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, which now carries Haring's artwork on the bottle.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows a brilliant, intense ruby red color, with a bouquet built on layers of wild rose, cherry, mint, cassis, and licorice. On the palate, sweet notes of white chocolate and vanilla intertwine with cedar and buttery oak, carried by gentle acidity to a lingering finish.
