About the Wine

Saperavi is from the Kindzmarauli microzone, village of Shilda. This microzone is a Protected Designation of Origin for the well-known Kindzmarauli wine. The microzone gives Saperavi grapes very high sugar levels while retaining a good amount of acidity. Kindzmarauli wine is semi-sweet, and as I make only dry wines, I cannot write “Kindzmarauli” on the label, so I write “Saperavi.” However, the back labels indicate that it is from the Kindzmarauli microzone.
