About the Wine
Our amber wine is a blend of Kisi and Khikhvi grape varieties. The grapes are vinified separately in our clay amphoras called Kvevri. The grapes are destemmed and crushed directly into kvevri, where the must starts fermentation after culture yeast. As Kvevri is buried under the ground, it always keeps a stable temperature even in the warmest days. After 5-7 days, when the fermentation is finished, kvevris are sealed well and the wine stays on skin contact for 6 months. After 6 months, the must is pressed and the resulting wine is stored in tanks before bottling. Importer: Vinoveli
Tasting Notes
This interesting blend of Kisi and Khikhvi has a pleasant golden, amber color. It boasts aromas typical to skin contact wines, like quince and white cherry jams, dry apricot, and persimmon. It's tannic and spicy on taste but also well balanced with good acidity and alcohol level. With an energetic, strong finish.
