Profile & Story
Isa Wines is a small California producer; this 'Don't Quit Your Day Job' bottling is roughly 90% Mataro (Mourvedre) - mostly from the TKC vineyard in Amador County's iron-rich red clay - blended with Grenache, Syrah, and additional Mataro from the Cotes de Cailloux vineyard in Sonoma Valley. Whole-cluster fermented in stainless steel, pressed after a few days on skins, and finished through malolactic fermentation in neutral barrels; only 125 cases were produced.
Tasting Notes
Light-bodied, aromatic, and juicy, with spicy and woodsy notes from the dominant Mataro variety; an easy-drinking, food-friendly Rhone-style blend.
