Profile & Story
Domaine de la Tour du Bon sits on a limestone plateau in northwestern Bandol at Le Castellet. The Hocquard family acquired the estate in 1968, and Agnès Henry has led the domaine for over 30 years, embracing organic farming and using biodynamic treatments since 2018. The 14 hectares of vineyards lie at roughly 150 m elevation on red earth, clay, sand and gravel over limestone bedrock. The Rosé is a traditional Bandol blend led by Mourvèdre (about 45%) with Cinsault and Grenache, vinified in stainless steel without malolactic fermentation; the wines are unfined and unfiltered, expressing a pure and unmanipulated style of Bandol.
Tasting Notes
An ochre-tinged hue that evokes Provençal warmth; aromas at once tonic and gourmand on a tender, spiced palate. With bottle age the color turns amber and the bouquet gains complexity.
Pairing Recommendation
Seafood, North-African spiced dishes, and exotic flavors — shrimp brochettes with grapefruit, sushi, pumpkin soup, red curry with shrimp, and fresh peaches. Serve at 13 °C.
