Profile & Story

The Chermette family farms the Poncié vineyard on pink granitic soil rich in mica and quartz on a southwest-facing slope. The four-hectare parcel of 40-year-old Gamay yields about 18,000 bottles annually, farmed under sustainable HVE3 certification. From their Saint-Vérand base, Pierre-Marie Chermette and family produce wines across the Beaujolais crus — Brouilly, Fleurie, Saint-Amour, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent — emphasizing authentic terroir expression with structure and finesse. The Fleurie Poncié is described by the estate as "very representative of the AOC Fleurie," with silky tannins and floral aromas delivering finesse and suavity.

Tasting Notes

Shiny crimson with deep purple hues; delicate, floral nose of fully blown rose, peony, and violet; silky tannins frame red-fruit notes, with toast and undergrowth and a peppery finish.

Pairing Recommendation

Terrines and delicate white meats. Serve at 14 °C; cellaring 3–8 years, peak 3–5 years.
