Domaine Vico "Forca di Pero" Corse Blanc 2024
2024, Vin de Corse, Corsica, France
Profile & Story
Domaine Vico was founded in 1901 in Ponte-Leccia in northern interior Corsica and was repurchased by the Acquaviva-Venturi family in 1987, leading to a deep modernization of vineyard and cellar. Since 2019 Emmanuel "Manu" Venturi has guided the estate on a strictly biodynamic path, achieving Demeter certification in 2020. The domaine works exclusively native Corsican varieties — Vermentinu, Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu, Bianco Gentile, and Genovese. "Forca di Pero," meaning "the fork of the pear tree" in Corsican, draws on south and southeast-facing blue-schist parcels of 30+ year-old Vermentinu, fermented and aged six months in concrete eggs with indigenous yeasts.
Tasting Notes
Floral, mineral, oily, and elegant — a wonderful expression of Vermentinu with crisp salinity, citrus (lemon and grapefruit), light and poised on the palate, with a fine burst of acidity and an extra level of aromatics.
