Profile & Story
Same Domaine Navarre philosophy: hand-harvest, no water reduction, no additives, no filtration. The Vieux Pineau blends 6-year-old Grande Champagne Cognac with sweet, unfermented Ugni Blanc grape must, then ages an extraordinary ~29–30 years in French oak barrel (the AOC minimum for "Vieux" is just 5 years). PM Spirits describes it as "one of the most beautiful and complex fortified wines you will ever taste."
Tasting Notes
Complex notes of honey, raisin, almond, and even a hint of mushroom from three decades in cask; layered, contemplative, and deeply nuanced.
Pairing Recommendation
Neat as aperitif or digestif; classic Pineau pairings include foie gras, blue cheese, and melon; excellent in Martini-style cocktails or splashed in a Champagne flute.
