Profile & Story
Champagne Tellier is an artisan grower based in Moussy (Coteaux Sud d'Épernay), farming 9 hectares across five villages around the historic Domaine des Conardins (7 ha in Moussy and Pierry). The brothers Quentin and Alexandre Tellier work plot by plot in the Burgundian tradition: hand-harvest, free-run juice only, vinification and aging in oak barrels, demi-muids and foudres from Vosges, Nièvre and Allier. Aging takes place in a 19th-century cellar at a constant 11 °C, with a medieval cellar reserved for extended sur-lattes maturation. "Les Massales" is the flagship blend, named for the Selection Massale vines that make up most of their holdings and assembled to represent the estate's full range of terroirs. The 2021 base (55% Chardonnay, 25% Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir) was aged 40 months sur lattes plus 3 months in bottle after disgorgement; dosage ~4 g/L.
Tasting Notes
A deep, complex wine with a rich array of aromas. Citrus zest and white flowers with brioche undertones, dry and elegant with fine effervescence and a mineral, persistent finish.
