Profile & Story

Castello Monaci is a Puglian estate housed in a 16th-century castle, owned by the Memmo and Seracca Guerrieri family and specializing in Puglia's indigenous grapes, with night harvesting and separate small-tank vinification. Piluna is its Salento Primitivo, the warm-climate grape for which the heel of Italy is famous.

Tasting Notes

A generous, warm-climate Primitivo — deep in color, with ripe black and red fruit, soft spice and a full, round palate.

Pairing Recommendation

Pairs with grilled and braised meats, hard cheeses and rich pasta.
