Profile & Story
Yacoubian-Hobbs is a partnership between Armenian vintner Vahe Yacoubian and California winemaker Paul Hobbs, working indigenous varieties in the high Vayots Dzor region of Armenia. This dry white comes from a high-altitude vineyard near the village of Aghavnadzor, at roughly 1,380–1,440 metres on mineral-rich volcanic soils with limestone, which lets Armenia's emblematic Voskehat ripen while keeping remarkable freshness; hand-harvested, it is fermented and aged nine months in stainless steel and bottled unfined. The 2022 was awarded 95 points by Tasting Panel Magazine.
Tasting Notes
Vivid straw in color, with a bright, expressive bouquet of honeysuckle, white melon and green apple and touches of quince and citrus, tied together by a refined minerality; medium-bodied with vibrant acidity.
Pairing Recommendation
A versatile food white — try it with grilled fish, poultry and herb-driven Mediterranean and Armenian dishes.
