Profile & Story
Franco Amoroso is a small-scale producer based in the Asti area of Piedmont, Italy, working within the Moscato d'Asti DOCG appellation alongside other Piedmontese wines such as Barbera d'Asti, Barbera d'Alba, Gavi, Barolo, Barbaresco and Langhe Nebbiolo. Moscato d'Asti is one of Italy's classic sweet, lightly sparkling (frizzante) wines, made from the aromatic Moscato Bianco grape grown on the hillsides around Asti; it is bottled young, with fermentation arrested while sugar remains, to preserve its natural fruitiness and low alcohol.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw yellow with a delicate, gentle sparkle typical of the frizzante style. Intensely aromatic notes of peach, apricot and orange blossom lead into a light, sweet palate lifted by refreshing acidity.
Pairing Recommendation
A classic match for fresh fruit and light desserts such as panna cotta or fruit tarts; also enjoyable on its own as an aperitif.
