Profile & Story
Kavaklıdere is Turkey's first private-sector winery, founded in Ankara in 1929 and still family-owned four generations later, with vineyards across seven wine-producing areas of Anatolia. Altın Köpük ("Golden Foam") was Turkey's first natural sparkling wine, made by the traditional cuve close (tank) method from Emir, an indigenous white grape grown in the volcanic soils of Cappadocia; after fermentation the wine is cooled and aged on its lees before release.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw yellow with a fine, persistent bead. Aromas of green apple, pear and citrus lead into a fresh, elegant palate with floral hints and a touch of minerality on the finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Works well as an aperitif, and alongside shellfish, sushi, seafood risotto, or cream-based desserts.
