Kavaklıdere, Turkey's first private winery (founded 1929), produces this wine from its Pendore estate — a château-style winery in Kemaliye, Alaşehir (Manisa province), operating since 2005 across 218 hectares, Turkey's largest single-parcel vineyard. Grapes are moved quickly from vineyard to winery to preserve freshness, and the estate's reds are matured in French oak.

Öküzgözü is one of Turkey's signature native red grapes, typically producing medium-bodied wines with bright acidity, red and black forest-fruit character, and soft, approachable tannins.
