Taylor Fladgate (Taylor's) is one of the oldest and most historic Port houses in Portugal's Douro Valley, and it pioneered the Late Bottled Vintage category: the original LBV was launched in 1970 by then-chairman Alistair Robertson, built around the 1965 vintage. Unlike Vintage Port, which is bottled after roughly 20 months in wood, Late Bottled Vintage remains in wood for four to six years before bottling, softening the wine so it is ready to drink on release, needs no decanting, and can be enjoyed by the glass for weeks after opening. LBV represents a significant share of Port sold worldwide, and Taylor's positions its LBV as a high-quality, more affordable and immediately drinkable alternative to Vintage Port.
Tasting Notes
A rich, dark-fruited Port built on the classic structure of a traditional Douro red-grape blend matured in wood, with layers of chocolate and warm baking spice.
