About the Wine

At 1,500 feet elevation on the north facing bench of Sonoma Mountain, van der Kamp vineyard is one of the oldest Pinot Meunier vineyards with plantings dating back to 1952. Its thin topsoil combined with loam, volcanic material and decomposed river bed leads to a more structured wine and a very unique terroir. It is farmed using environmentally sustainable practices.

Tasting Notes

Drinking this Old Vine Carignane is like stepping into a cozy jazz lounge—smooth yet bold, rich with dark cherry and plum jam sessions, and a deep, roasted coffee bassline. Wildflowers bring a touch of elegance, while a little untamed, earthy energy keeps things exciting—like an unexpected sax solo. With firm tannins and serious structure, this wine’s got longevity—let it age, and it’ll only get smoother and more complex.

Pairing Notes

Roast chicken, braised short ribs, beef stew, or aged Manchego cheese work well with Carignane’s structure and depth.
