About the Wine
The estate’s two signature wines, Solaia and Tignanello, are produced from these vineyards and have been defined by the international press as “among the most influential wines in the history of Italian viticulture”. According to Marchesi Antinori, Solaia and Tignanello are an ongoing challenge and a never-ending passion. The Tignanello estate has vineyards of indigenous Sangiovese grapes as well as some other untraditional varieties such as Cabernet Franc. A traditional cross-vaulted stone ceiling towers over Solaia's ancient cellar. The Villa's original edifice and the historical cellars date back to the sixteenth century and protect new French oak barriques that will eventually be used for aging Solaia.
Tasting Notes
Deep garnet with a vibrant ruby edge, velvety soft on the palate with bright cherry to plum flavors. This wine is weighty and full of fresh ripe berries with rich, dark accents of cocoa nib. Intriguing and delicious. Aromas of dark chocolate, plum, black cherry, cedar and tarragon jump from the glass.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs excellently with our steaks and burgers.
