About the Wine
With an irresistible character, expressing fruit and structure, Milla Cala is harmonious blend with a persistent elegance which maintains a flawless equilibrium between aroma and taste. This assemblage is a tribute to its origin: the meeting between the new and old world. "Milla" means gold in Mapudungun, while "Cala" is the Spanish translation of Vik. It has an irresistible character, expressive notes of fruit, and a persistent elegance that maintains a perfect balance between aroma and taste. The blend includes 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Carmenere, 14% Cabernet Franc, 7% Syrah, and 1% Merlot. The wine is aged 20 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
Milla Cala reflects Millahue Valley's pure terroir. Each variety dynamically contributes to the Bordeaux-style blend's complexity. Cabernet Sauvignon seduces with ripe dark berry fruit and supple velvet tannins. Merlot delivers plush stone fruit, while Cabernet Franc elevates the blend with elegant minerality. Carmenere gives the blend its depth, body, and flavors of blackberries and plums, and Syrah finishes with floral notes of lavender and violets. Twenty months of aging in French barrels impart final touches of spice and mocha.
